So now you have hired a Google Adwords Consultant. What can you expect from them? What should motivate you as a business to keep them?

I cannot presume to make a decision for you but I would like you to consider some of the points I will be mentioning here to help you decide.

1. Is your Google Adwords Consultant providing Value for money?

Every business invests in order to have a return on their investment. Is your Adwords specialist providing value for money? How can they show you that they are indeed providing value for money?

One of the best ways is to insist on having a monthly campaign performance report that shows the improvement they are making to your campaigns. This is the bear minimum. Make sure they don’t just give you technical jargon but present it in a language that you understand. I say this because this is something we PPC consultants can easily do. This is crucially important if you are hiring a freelance google adwords consultant who is not in-house.

I know you are busy but take time to read the monthly reports and compare them month per month to see if there is an increase in the revenue that they are bring in. This is easy if you have ecommerce site.

You might think that this is obvious but I had a client who seemed to be happy with they campaign (before I took over) because apparenty the traffic was on the increase each month but they had no idea what value the adwords expert was providing. There is no point in having an increase in traffic if you are not making any sales at all.

To ensure that your freelance adwords consultant does not take advantage of you, make sure that you are clear on what your advertising goals are and define your key performance indicators clearly. 2. Are they communicating effectively with
you?

As an Adwords Consultant, I can tell you that this is easily done. Sometime you are doing a great job but can fail to communicate your work clearly with your client. So make sure they don’t simply provide you reports showing value. Make sure they communicate regularly and effective. By effective communication, I mean, them letting you know clearly what they have been up to. How are they optimising your campaigns. What are they doing to increase your ads quality score. What are they doing to increase your traffic and revenue? I know they are the experts but do your best to engage with them because they do appreciate it. Trust me, it helps for us to know what you are expecting from us. So don’t be shy and ask the right questions. Remember, you are paying them for it.
